Hi, I'm Holly — Founder of Nordic & Native

I'm half-Norwegian and half-Native American, enrolled with the North Fork Mono Indians of California, a federally recognized tribe with over 3,000 members. My heritage isn't just part of my identity—it's woven into everything Nordic & Native stands for.

I founded this shop in 2024 here in Yuba City with a simple mission: create a space where comfort meets culture, where style honors tradition, and where everyone—including our four-legged family members—is welcome.

Meet Our Brand Mascots: Bubba & Piper

You'll see them everywhere around here! Bubba and Piper, my French Bulldogs, are the heart and soul of Nordic & Native. They're our product testers, our Instagram stars, and the reason I was determined to create a truly dog-friendly shopping experience. If kids are welcome everywhere, why not our pups? They deserve to strut their stuff in style, too.

Why Nordic & Native?

The name reflects my dual heritage—Norwegian roots and Native American pride. But it's more than a name. It's a commitment to:

  • Honoring Indigenous culture through authentic storytelling and support for causes like Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women (MMIW)
  • Celebrating comfort with cozy, functional products that make everyday life a little more joyful
  • Building community where conscious consumers, dog lovers, and culture-minded folks feel at home

Our Tribal Connection

I'm proud to be enrolled with the North Fork Mono Indians of California. Our tribe has deep roots in the Central Valley, and our new casino is opening Summer 2026 in Madera, CA (17770 Golden State Blvd., adjacent to Hwy 99 between Avenue 17 and Avenue 18 1/2).

Being Indigenous-owned means something. It means every purchase supports a Native woman entrepreneur. It means we stand with our communities. And it means we're committed to sharing stories that matter.

What We Believe

Life's too short for boring pillows and sad dog sweaters. We curate stylish, functional products for women, teens, and their pets—from vibrant KITSCH satin pillowcases to adorable dog hoodies. Every item tells a story, and every story honors the blend of comfort and culture that defines us.
